Eww… I broke my CSS
Well I just noticed that my CSS is broken over here on the WordPress side of the site … I know it was when I added the header (also broken over here) … I will fix this week with some luck ….
I’m in need of a nice project/issue tracker that can be installed via FTP / Web interface only … I’m currently entertaining bug genie, but am open to suggestion … Ideally I would run RedMine and call it a day, but I have to deal with some strange limitations at the moment, and Don’t really want to do all the customization needed to get Mantis to look right…
Tomorrow is a BIG DAY …. Positive vibes from everyone please, just send me some thoughts of awesomeness if at all possible in the morning… I figure it can’t hurt and may just help.
Need to get to sleep…

Masterminding
Worked late (4:30-ish AM) finishing up that lagging project (finally!!!) … Overslept, had a meeting with Mr. Bradfield (Jeff) at noon, but I didn’t even drag my but out of bed until 12:30… (but look its 8 full hours of sleep!!!!)
Sent him a text to let him know we were still ‘on’ and that I was just behind, and drove down to Scarborough. I was going to nab Mr. Lodin (Kal) along the way, but he was already downtown so it was just Jeff and I.
We had a good time, did some work on his site (http://www.jeffbradfield.ca) and discussed a project we are collaboratively working on that moving really slow on account of us not getting together and keeping on top of things… I’m going to try again for the monday morning meetings (mastermind group). Jeff and I reviewed some layouts for the site we want for the new project and I’ll spend a few cycles this week (during my morning commute) seeing what I can get hammered out in terms of a loose ‘spec’.
We want to keep really agile on this and because it’s a collaborative thing between some great colleagues that I’m proud to call friends… its pretty relaxed.
Hopefully this will be one of those projects that turns into a revenue stream for us and will send us cheques in the mail … I really like those projects … the ones you do once but keep getting paid on. (You can thank Timothy Ferriss for my new found love of the 4 hour work week ideals).
I set Jeff up with some GTD love too … I’m sure that if has a peek he will get hooked.
Oh, and YES! .. I did get it done, and I feel great because of it

Like the energizer bunny.
I keep going, and going, and going
… umm, I don’t mean like that (get your minds out of the gutter … although … oh look ! a bird!!!
… See, I just realized that a whole month has already passed in 2009… Thats a whole month of blogging, * pats himself on the back for a job well done so far *. I would like to think that what I’m rambling about here is of interest to someone other then just myself, but it’s totally possible that I’m just diluting myself here too
The point is, if your reading this and you want to hear me ramble about a specific topic, drop me a note… you can comment here (comments are moderated) or if you prefer, you can use the contact form on the main part of the site.
If you know me, you know that I’m a fairly unique individual and I have a bit of a slanted view on most things. From the meaning of life and my role in it, to the illusion of time and this physically manifest vibrational existence, and including the law of attraction and how thoughts become things, and the firm belief that the glass isn’t half full or half empty, it’s completely full (half liquid, half air, but no matter what you can not get any more volume in the glass itself).
So, seeing as I have been at this a month straight already (as my own personal challenge), I challenge you, the reader to give me some suggestions. Failure to do so will result in more of my ramblings the way I see fit to ramble about things, and I will be sure to include something on the dream-spell (13 moons), more GTD, more Back on Track Experiment, more on Polyphasic sleeping, personal development, traffic, face stabbing devices, commuting, retarded people, government, spring, mountain biking, road tripping, and just about anything else that I can come up with.
Let me be honest, I’m trying to coerce you (the readers) into a suggestion or two because it would be good for me to try writing about something that someone else suggests, and it’s sure to help me become a better writer / blogger. So … Give a guy some suggestions.

GTD and 43 Things
I signed up for 43 Things a few months back, and then I forgot about it… Want to know why I forgot about it? Because I added the 43 Things widget to my iGoogle so that I would see it all the time (releasing my mind from having to think about it). Problem was, it’s lower on the page and not somewhere I actually look, so it wasn’t somewhere that I would see it (although my mind thought it was a good enough place to put it to allow me to forget about it).
So my ranting the past few days has been centered around GTD, and clearly, I haven’t been getting anything done (or at least very little). My biggest problem is that I’m taxing my brain to remember far too much, so I took the time to do a brain dump a few days back, and I actually already feel less stressed about some of the things I need to get done, not because there is a lot of forward movement on any of them yet, but because I know that getting them out of my head was a great step in the right direction.
Today I have to get a few more details for a project wrapped up and I’m utilizing the GTD philosophy to manage the project. I haven’t started using OmniFocus to it’s full potential yet, but in the coming days I hope too, such a great tool (and the iPhone support makes another case for acquiring an iPhone in the near future).

Principal of Circumstances
I’m an advocate of constant self improvement… I have always believed that it’s not what happens to you, it’s how you deal with it, and I have never really fallen into the grouping of circumstance (well lets be honest here, I don’t really fall into any grouping except my own, but I digress..).
There is a wonderful woman out there to thank for the solidification of this basic principal, someone that I am very grateful to have had the privlidge of working with, te tragic part to this, is that she doesn’t even know how much of a positive impact she (and this principal) has had on my life. Yvonne Donelly was my Director and Mentor while I was the programming instructor and head of the programming faculty for CDI College of Business and Technology. She gave me this little gold card that had several motivational quotes on it… I used to carry in my wallet, I in turn passed it along to someone else that I thought at the time would benefit from it’s message.
It went something like this … “Life is ten percent what happens to you and ninety percent how you respond to it.” … Lou Holtz – “Its not that the circumstances have gotten you where you are, the successful people will figure out what circumstances they work best with, and then go out to create them.” – Unknown
I wanted to post a thank you to Yvonne… Wherever you are, may the sun be shining on your world.

Speaking too soon
Looks like I spoke too soon … I had to manually publish yesterdays post, Word Press just tossed up a message beside the post that said ‘Missed Schedule“… how helpful (*cough * retarded * cough *) … An answer will come, I’m sure of it
So what’s with the universe as of late? One client say go, then no go after I went. Another client says hurry up, but then doesn’t show up for a scheduled meeting, QuickBooks insists on making integration with Rails so complex that I wish I didn’t have to go anywhere near QuickBooks (but I still do). My oldest hasn’t called me in over a week now
. The people that I have been forced to to deal with against my will for the sake of my children haven’t returned a phone call (thats a whole other story). I had to deal with a flat tire last night… what gives?
I’m being my normal optimistic self, why all the obstacles and challenges? The universe must know by now that I’m just gonna shine no matter what… If last year didn’t kill me, it’s unlikely that anything except old age will… So when do the uber hot, half naked women start throwing themselves at me, where is the mountain of unexpected money and fortune, and why hasn’t it fallen on me yet ….
Puzzling, thats for sure
Oh well … I’ll be grateful that the go no go client will be super happy with everything once it’s done and a real go, relaxed that the hurry up client is allowing me to make it a leisurely stroll vs. a sprint, proud that I will have mastered Rails and QuickBooks by the time the integration is done, extra excited to hear from my beautiful little girl, happy that the people I’m forced to deal with are only hanging themselves more by not getting back to me in a timely manner, and glad that I finally got that portable air compressor I needed to get.
Attitude of Gratitude Universe… Thanks for all the great stuff your sending …
Can I put in a request for those super hot half naked women to hurry up with my mountain of money?
Awesome!!!
